Health and Safety

Health and Safety is of paramount importance in every aspect of life, but it is especially important when on-site, before, after and during construction, as it isn’t just our lives and lives of the workforce to consider but the lives of everyone else as well.

Our ethos is simple, safe behaviour is encouraged by continuous training, rigid monitoring and strict processes, all put in place for the safety of everyone involved or impacted by the work carried out.

It is because of this ethos that Screed Masters ensure all our staff are First Aid trained, and we make sure each operative also holds a valid CSCS card. Furthermore, we have highly trained site managers that carry out rigid risk assessments and COSHH risk assessments that even exceed HSE standards before briefing the team working on the project. Additionally, as a business we carry out the following reviews regularly to ensure our health and safety standards meet not only our own high expectations, but fall in line with legal guidelines and compliance as well, they are:

  • Toolbox talks
  • Environmental policy
  • Risk assessment procedures
  • COSHH risk assessment procedure
  • HSE approved First aid training

Due to the high importance Screed Masters put on our health and safety checks and procedures, as well as the legal obligations and requirements highlighted in the cdm Regulations 2007. Our on-site teams are always briefed and given specific inductions before any work commences by the site manager. Once the work begins, all our workforce strictly adhere to method statements and risk assessments given to them prior to starting the work.
